Each year, the International Day of the Girl-child is celebrated on October 11 to promote girl's empowerment and fulfilment of their human rights while also addressing gender-based violence. Since 2013, the International Day of the Girl-child has become a major event on WIT-Girl calendar. We reach out to young girls in secondary schools as we mark each year with the United Nations annual themes.
